2022 - Botanical Inks on Paper
Studio Archive
Between 2018 and 2022, my long-standing relationship with plants naturally extended into my artistic practice, as I created plant-based inks from flowers, seeds, leaves and other botanical elements gathered during my walks.
Through slow processes of extraction and transformation, I explored the colors and variations that emerged through an exchange between the landscapes around me and the act of making. Each color carried the memory of the plant from which it emerged, revealing a connection between botanical life and the marks left on the surface. I also discovered how natural pigments could shift and reveal unexpected variations through the use of pH modifiers.
These works became an exploration of botanical traces and the dialogue between the living world and artistic surfaces.
